Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock Will Have DLC, Transferable PS3-Vita Save Games

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will have DLC (Downloadable Content) and will feature cross Playstation 3/Playstation Vita play, BBC Worldwide have told Digital Spy.

The Vita version of the game will allow saved games to be shared between the PS3 and the Vita, whilst also utilising a GPS technology called Near.

“We’re using the GPS feature Near, so there’s a whole mini-game, almost, around Doctor Who medals, where you can tag geographic locations and then other people with the game on Vita can come and grab medals from you.” – Simon Harris, Executive Producer, Told Digital Spy

It’s also been revealed that the Vita Version will utilise both the front and the back touch inputs, as well as the Six Axis Controls.

Digital Spy explains about the DLC that will be made available within months of the release of the game.

Also revealed was downloadable content, which will arrive within a “few months” of its March release, and will be “self contained content”.

“Hopefully [the DLC will] keep it fresh and exciting in everyone’s mind and move the story along and give hints,” said Harris.

“There’s a lot of hints in this game about the future parts of the story which I’m really looking forward to watching, because the fans will dissect it and pull it apart, and lay everything bare.”

He added: “I’m really looking forward to seeing who starts to pick up on what are the hints and where we will be going with this. It’s going to be an exciting few years.”

The trailer states a release date of March 2012. The game will be released on the Playstation 3 and the Playstation Vita through the PSN (Playstation Network) and “shortly after” on the PC.
